I really liked the imagery used throughout this part of the Ramayana. In the episode "Sugriva and Vali", I loved the quote "Dearer than his love of glory is his love to heal and bless." To me this symbolizes the bigger picture of life. The idea of letting go of greed, money, and power- in search of wholeness, peace, and a fuller life. Another quote that stuck out to me was from the episode "The Rainy Season." It spoke about "Spacious is yon rocky cavern fragrant with the mountain air, Bright with lily and lots, watered by a streamlet fair." This scene just spoke to my soul. As we are about to enter our fourth week of the semester, I am really starting to miss the freedom of the break- which gave me the ability to be outside every day, exploring, reading, and meditating. Looking at the image below, next week I hope to write a piece that has the central theme of stepping out of the marching line and following a path that leads to inner peace and fulfillment- rather than simply going along with things for the sake of not causing any controversy. I also really like how this section is written. I also hope to include more poems, or better grouped phrases to change up my writing style/story telling!!

I saw this image as I was reading through Part C, and something about it really drew me in. I would really like to make up a story related to this image at some point in the course! Link to Image |
